Budweiser Budvar has collaborated with Rexam to create a unique packaging design for the Czech brewer’s 120th anniversary. The team designed the packaging to capture the brand’s history and premium quality.

The limited edition can uses Rexam’s matte over-varnish and a graphic of a 19th century barmaid, chosen to encapsulate the brewery’s anniversary and traditions.

Budweiser Budvar Innovation Manager Marek Honetschläger said:

“We wanted to bring our unique can design to life in a way that would engage our valued consumers and enable us to celebrate this exciting milestone with them. As a trusted supplier, with vast experience in the industry, we knew Rexam could be relied upon to deliver. Offering an array of colors and value-added finishes, we collaborated to develop a limited edition can that we are truly proud of.”

Rexam’s Austrian Enzesfeld plant makes the 500-milliliter cans, which are available throughout the summer in several European countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Russia.

Rexam recently created limited edition packaging for another Czech brewery, Pilsner Urquell. The cans feature elements from archived designs to celebrate the brand’s 172-year history.
