Neenah, Wisconsin-based Menasha Corporation has acquired Mississauga, Ontario-based Portable Packaging Systems to expand its capabilities in Canada.

Both firms design promotional packaging and displays for retailers and consumer packaged goods clients. Both provide material sourcing, assembly, repacking and fulfilment and distribution services in the food, household and personal care markets.

The family-owned business will operate as a subsidiary of Menasha Corporation, under the title Menasha Packaging Canada L.P.

Portable Packaging became Menasha Corporation’s second acquisition in Canada. It purchased PearceWellwood—also in Ontario—in January. PearceWellwood designs and manufactures corrugated displays for the retail industry.

Menasha Company president Mike Waite said:

“Portable Packaging’s structural and graphic design expertise, along with its integrated merchandising supply chain model, complement Menasha Packaging’s platform and strengthens our integrated materials and services business model in Canada. This is a very exciting time for our company and employees, and I look forward to the many opportunities this partnership and expansion will provide to new and current customers in Canada.”
