Treofan, a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film producer, has announced several advanced packaging films. These HNA, HND, and HLD films have hot slip properties and can be processed at temperatures as high as 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes the film ideal for packaging food products like cookies processed on a horizontal packaging line. The films include a specially-designed additive on the reverse side.
Detlef Huett, an engineer at Treofan, said the low seal ignition temperature and hot slip properties set the film apart from its competitors.

“There are films on the market that can be sealed at low temperature, and there are others that have constant hot slip properties. Yet the combination of the two, to our knowledge, is an industry first.”
