Hazen Paper Company states that its Enhanced Envirofoil coating offers a highly printable surface, improved scuff resistance and a significantly brighter surface for paper packaging. In addition to its visual benefits, Hazen stresses Enhanced Envirofoil’s eco-friendly characteristics.

The company claims that Envirofoil is as recyclable as printed paper and that it reduces aluminum usage by 95 percent compared to foil lamination—a source reduction of 350,000 fewer pounds of aluminum after two years. The company also uses hydroelectric power for its metallizing and coating operations.

Enhanced Envirofoil helped Hazen win “Product of the Year” at the 2015 management meeting of the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL). The award recognized a series of Enhanced Envirofoil-coated sleeves and cartons produced for Titleist golf balls packages.

Hazen President John Hazen said:

“We’re honored to be recognized for so much of our customers’ work. We’re fortunate to have a great roster of elite clients who call upon us to help them realize goals for sustainability, efficiency, and pioneering design to drive sales. Their trust and commitment motivate us: we are delighted to be able to contribute to the production of these exemplary packages. All credit goes to our customers, and we thank them.”
