The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is doing a good job of keeping its website up to date with information about its proposed changes to the Nutrition Facts Label. The agency also speaks directly with the industry on certain occasions to provide real time insights and to answer questions.
Chief Packaging Officer is honored that October 6th from 1 to 2 p.m. ET will be one of those special events when FDA representative Dr. Claudine J. Kavanaugh joins us for a live webinar. Dr. Kavanaugh will share her knowledge of the label change process with the packaging community – and answer your questions. We hope that you and your team will take advantage of this important opportunity.
In her role with the FDA as an interdisciplinary scientist in its Office of Foods and Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Kavanaugh has been personally involved in the research and discussion phases of the proposed label changes. She’ll provide the latest available update from a first-hand perspective.
Although the rule changes will not likely be finalized before early 2016, now is the time to start gathering information and planning your strategy. Chief Packaging Officer is committed to providing you with the most current intelligence from expert sources to help you begin your planning process.
Our last webinar provided an excellent overview of the label changes by Kimberly Wingfield of the Grocery Manufacturer’s Association along with information from Merieux NutriSciences on which ingredients need to be accounted for and tips to insure accuracy and adherence. We discussed technology solutions for meeting the relabeling challenge.
We recommend that, in addition to registering for the FDA webinar, you access a recording of the earlier webinar to gain foundational information and to help formulate your questions. Even if you attended that webinar, you should find a review prior to the October 6th event helpful.
Please join Chief Packaging Officer, Dr. Kavanaugh and your packaging industry colleagues for this not-to-be-missed session. As expected, we’re receiving a tremendous response and want to be sure that everyone who can benefit has an opportunity to attend. So please share a link to this post with anyone who you believe will gain from participating.
We look forward to seeing you on October 6th at 1 p.m. ET.
