Avery Dennison has announced a new line of syringe product labeling options.
According to the company, the syringe labels offer “low migration and high-performance adhesives on flexible paper and film face stocks.” The products resist heat, steam and chemicals and are sterilization-friendly, the company said. Avery Dennison also offers photoluminescent labels to help missing label detection using ultraviolet light.
David Collins, North America marketing director for specialty products at Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials, said:
“According to the IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics, the global pharmaceutical segment is projected to grow to more than one trillion USD by 2018, with focused growth in the oncology, diabetes, pain and autoimmune therapy areas… Choosing the right label solution can help customers avoid costly failures at the packaging line.”
Adhesives used in pharmaceutical packaging must undergo FDA testing, so Avery Dennison said it notifies converters of any adhesive changes in advance to make sure the new formulations are properly tested.
