A new water bottle from a startup called Memobottle is intended to make on-the-go water consumption more sustainable. Its reusability makes it a departure from traditional single-use water bottles and its shape makes it more convenient. The Memobottle design is square – like memo paper in several sizes — and flat, making it easily transportable in a laptop case or backpack. The company’s web site reads:
“Single use bottle consumption has gone bananas in recent years, with 1,500 plastic bottles being used and discarded every SECOND in the US. This has a damaging effect on both the environment and our hip pockets. Bottled water is about 1,400 times more expensive than tap water and often less regulated.”
The package is BPA-free, dishwasher safe, and durable. It also comes in three different sizes ranging from 25 to 33 oz.
