Giumarra Agricom International has announced a retail food packaging redesign to lead its new Nature’s Partner avocado nutrition initiative.

Its new bulk avocado bag aims to increase consumption in the category and promotes the Hass Avocado Board’s (HAB) Love One Today® initiative. The bag lists healthy properties of avocados, including “naturally good fats,” “cholesterol free” and “less than one gram of sugar.” The back of the bag features a recipe for an avocado, feta and apple sandwich created by HAB. More recipes will be included in future production runs of the packaging, Giumarra said.

Giumarra Agricom Vice President and General Manager Bruce Dowhan said:

“Given their consumer popularity and reputation as a delicious superfood, we felt strongly about positioning avocados as a vital addition to a healthy lifestyle. We are excited to share the bag and accompanying promotions with our retail partners and work with them to develop nutrition-focused programs designed to educate their consumers and increase avocado purchases.”

Giumarra also offers Nature’s Partner branded avocado racks to complement the bags at retail.
