UK-based Nolato Medical Pharma Packaging has come up with a new way to print Braille on the side of medicine packaging, and will debut its innovation at CphI, Innopack in Paris. Having finally mastered the crucial ability to screen print the wording at a consistent height directly on the container, this is a massive step away from prior attempts to emboss labels with Braille. The dot height stands at .25mm, over twice the minimum height standards. Packaging Europe reports that in addition to the intended purpose of printing Braille, this advancement also opens doors to other innovative touch-centered packaging possibilities.
