Switzerland-based company Sidel has announced a new line of packaging services designed to help beverage producers add value across their supply chains. The services apply a holistic approach to packaging design, taking into account factors such as account brand goals, production capabilities, distribution and storage conditions. The four new services are packaging and preform design, packaging optimization, liquid-package interaction analysis and packaging qualification.
Sidel Vice President for Packaging Vincent Le Guen said:
“Long before the product reaches the point of sale, the design of the bottle can create value throughout the supply chain. Additional value areas, for example, include improved line efficiency, enhanced product safety, greater sustainability, lower fuel costs, faster industrialization and speed to market, and reduced costs. Great package design can help add significant and genuine value at each phase of the supply chain, from raw materials through to recycling.”
Sidel said that once a package design is finished, tested and qualified for production, it can determine which equipment and system should be used to produce the packaging. The company provides its own production lines—including the latest Sidel Matrix™ beverage production equipment—or converts its existing lines, offering a complete ‘design-to-reality’ solution.
