Genesee Brewing Company recently revealed its new beer packaging design.

The new packaging and branding changed the company’s Genny Light back to its original name, Genesee Light, which was launched in 1978. The graphics for Genesee Beer, Genesee Cream Ale and Genesee Ice were also updated to include a wheat stalk and identification as New York State’s oldest brewery. The new packaging was designed to reflect Genesee’s heritage while still appealing to modern consumers.

Genesee revealed the new design by unveiling the three-story beer storage tanks outside of its Rochester brewery, which were decorated to simulate giant beer cans sporting the new package designs. Approximately 7,425 square feet of cloth was used to cover the tanks for the dramatic reveal ceremony. “The packaging has changed but the beer is the same great quality beer that generations of people have enjoyed,” said Mike Mueller, brewmaster at Genesee.

The new packaging will be available in stores across the Northeast later this month.
