Unilever has finally introduced a dry spray antiperspirant to the U.S. market that it’s been marketing in Europe and other global markets for years. For this introduction, the aerosol product has been implemented across five brands and 25 custom-designed variants. The can features an actuator that produces a soft, non-sticky spray for improved user experience. According to Unilever, its Dry Spray Antiperspirant is the number one-selling antiperspirant globally.

Matthew McCarthy, senior director of antiperspirants and deodorants for Unilever, told Pack World:

“Deodorant is one of the most important personal care products we use every day, but the user experience still leaves much to be desired. Americans are demanding more from their personal care products, and with the launch of new Dry Spray Antiperspirants, they will enjoy a dry and clean application experience unlike anything they’ve tried before.”

The Dry Spray Antiperspirants aerosol package design features TPE finger pads and uniquely-shaped can designs for a comfortable hand feel.

The new product packaging is being used for Degree Women, Degree Men, Dove, Dove Men+Care, and Axe. Unilever senior R&D manager Douglas Tomczak said that each can and actuator design was tested with consumers and that their feedback was incorporated into the package design process.
