UK-based JDO has designed luxury packaging for Quench Absolute, Dove’s new extension of premium hair care products. This is not the first time JDO has collaborated with Unilever’s Dove—the agency designed the packaging for the original Advanced Hair Series, launched last year. According to Dove, Quench Absolute is the most nourishing product line of its Advanced Hair Series to date.

JDO was challenged to design packaging that could stand on its own while still relating to the existing products. The designers used a rich, shimmering bronze color to reflect the product’s nourishing properties. The line’s icon—an oil droplet encircled by a curl—was designed to represent how the product nourishes hair from the inside out.

JDO creative director Ray Smith said:

“The new Dove Quench range has to work with and stand out amongst the other Dove Advanced Hair Series tier of products as well as having its own personality. The rich metallic bronze is a metaphor for the rich, dark curls that the products enhance and is used throughout the range and on all formats.”
