TricorBraun created cool new packaging for the Billy Jealously Black Line of men’s grooming products. Billy Jealousy founders Pat Parsi and Danielle Rouso requested a design that would attract 18-to-40-year-old professional males.
The cool packaging design features a stylized version of its original dragon logo. The new package holds three ounces of product—one ounce more than the previous package.
The packaging may be different, but Parsi said that the product formulations remain the same. The line includes six jars of hair-styling products, a tube of hard hold gel and a bottle of shampoo. The products have names that target the demographic, such as Ruckus Molding Cream, Clutch Play Texturizing Gunk and Controlled Substance Hard Hold Hair Gel.
TricorBraun supplied the molds for the PET jars and polypropylene lids. Each jar has a pressure-sensitive foil label on its lid and a wraparound foil label on its body. Bottom paper labels display product information. Billy Jealousy excluded induction seals so that consumers could open the jar and smell the product before purchasing.
“Working with TricorBraun designers helped us realize our vision with the impact we were looking for in our finished packages,” Parsi said. “The response from salons and consumers so far has been universally positive.”
