Hawaii Sea Spirits has introduced custom retail packaging for its ultra-premium product, Ocean Organic Vodka. According to the company, the spirit is made with organic sugarcane and blended with ocean mineral water from 3,000 feet beneath the ocean’s surface off the Kona Coast of Hawaii.

The Kula, Hawaii-based company began the package redesign in 2013 to replace the stock glass wine bottle that had been used since the product’s launch in 2006. According to Interim Marketing Director Jim Grannan, the original packaging did not convey the product’s unique ingredients, ultra-premium quality or retail price point.

The new package from Teamwork Trade Co., Ltd., Global Group of China draws inspiration from “ocean-only” artifacts. For example, the bottle’s shape resembles that of the hand-blown glass fishing net floats first used by Norwegian fishermen in the mid-1800s.
The product name, “Ocean,” is embossed on the front of the package. The words “Organic Vodka” are applied in white ink and baked into the bottle.

According to the company, since the launch of the new bottle, the vodka has seen a six-fold increase in sales over the same period the prior year.
