Small companies like nutraceutical maker Aqua-Ra often struggle to find a high-impact custom packaging design for their low-volume product runs.

The California supplement company needed a 2,500 custom-carton run that could each fit 30 individual stick-packs of its flagship product, Statin-Ease. CEO Ken Colley created a list of potential vendors that would be at Pack Expo Las Vegas in 2013. He narrowed down his choices and met with a dozen of the most likely candidates at the event.

Colley said:

“Pack Expo provides a matchless opportunity to find packaging solutions. It enabled me to meet face-to-face with representatives from prospective vendors all in one location—making the process of finding a supplier that best fit our needs simpler and more efficient.”

Impressed with the company’s customer-focused approach, Colley chose custom folding carton manufacturer Imperial Printing & Paper Box Manufacturing Co., also in California. Colley said that Imperial provided Aqua-Ra with timely and high-quality service, delivering the custom 3-by-4-by-5.12-inch 4-color paperboard cartons in the required volumes.

“From the outset, I was happy working with Imperial,” Colley said. “They understood all the regulations and standards our packaging needed to meet.”
