Three trade show leaders have announced ProFood Tech, a new event focusing on processing technologies in the food and beverage packaging industry. The companies said the show will debut April 4-6, 2017, at McCormick Place in Chicago.

The leaders behind the new show are PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies; Koelnmesse and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA). PMMI owns and produces the PACK EXPO trade shows. Koelnmesse manages food and beverage packaging industry trade shows, including Anuga and Anuga Food Tec in Cologne, Germany. The IDFA is North America’s largest dairy association, claiming to represent more than 85 percent of all North American dairy product manufacturing.

ProFood Tech aims to provide the latest solutions for food and beverage companies, which face challenges created by changing industry technology. The three event producers said that the new show will allow both large and small suppliers to break into new markets and reach many new customers at one event. ProFood Tech plans to address all issues facing food and beverage processers in North America, including sustainability, improved operations and food safety.

Several industry leaders, including Delkor Systems, Inc. and Tetra Pak, have expressed interest in ProFood Tech.

Carla Fantoni, vice president of communications for Tetra Pak U.S. and Canada, said, “The joint efforts of PACK EXPO, Anuga and IDFA clearly demonstrate a commitment from these three leading organizations to establish a trusted brand serving all food and beverage categories. We think this consolidated approach will help suppliers and customers alike make the most of the show.”
